TOURNEE TOOTS THIELEMANS QUARTET AFGELAST Wegens gezondheidsredenen is Toots Thielemans genoodzaakt de resterende optredens van zijn Nederlandse tournee te annuleren. Voor het eerst in zijn loopbaan is hem door zijn huisarts een verplichte vakantie voorgeschreven tot 31 december 2006. Als geen ander betreurt hij dat de komende concerten geen doorgang kunnen vinden en hij zijn publiek moet teleurstellen. Toots Thielemans hoopt dan ook spoedig weer fit te zijn en concerten te kunnen geven. Het concert op woensdag 4 oktober in het Bimhuis wordt vervangen door: woensdag 4 oktober, 21.00 uur, gratis toegang DUO JOSE TOBON / JUANCHO VALENCIA & COLOMBIAN FRIENDS Jose Tobon-sopraansax, klarinet, Juancho Valencia-piano, composities Toegangskaarten voor het concert van het Toots Thielemans Quartet in het Bimhuis op woensdag 4 oktober kunnen bij de kassa van het Bimhuis worden ingeruild. Toots Thielemans (Brussel, 1922) turned the harmonica into a serious jazz instrument. He made his international break through in 1950 when he toured Europe with Benny Goodman. In 1962 he composed Bluesette, a piece that made him world famous. In the Netherlands he is known for his soundtracks of the films Turks Fruit and the series Baantjer and Sesam Straat. ‘Toots is one of the greatest musicians of our time. On his instrument he ranks with the best that jazz has ever produced.
