Toots Thielemans is world famous for making the harmonica a fully fledged jazz instrument. He burst onto the scene in the 1950s, playing bebop with Benny Goodman. In 1962 he wrote the world-wide hit Bluesette. In The Netherlands he is famous for composing soundtrack music for Turks Fruit, Baantjer and Sesame Street. ‘Toots is one of the greatest musicians of our time… He goes for the heart and makes you cry, and he always keeps me coming back for more’ (Quincy Jones).
