TONY LAKATOS GYPSY COLOURS
Agnes Szaloki-vocals, Tony Lakatos-saxophones, Bela Szakcsi Lakatos-piano, Gyorgy Orban-bass, Andras Lakatos-drums
Tony Lakatos is without doubt one of the most important tenor players in Europe and therefore has been a member of the European Jazz Ensemble. Besides having played in the groups of Randy Brecker and Trilok Gurtu he was shining in Jasper van ’t Hoff’s world music group Pili Pili for over ten years. The Hungarian musician, residing in Germany, originates from a family of famous gypsy violinists and in his new group Gypsy Colours he blends hard bop and funk with the music from that tradition.
