No room for false modesty in the Amsterdam band Tin Men & The Telephone: World Domination Part 1: Federal Union for Restoring Intergalactic Equilibrium (FURIE) is the name of their new album, the follow-up to their innovative multimedia projects which involved the audience through the use of smartphone apps, Facebook post, YouTube clips and more.
Making the everyday special, is what Tin Men & The Telephone do with their music. Alongside influences from classical, jazz, hip-hop and Balkan, the three musicians also use traffic noise, speech samples and telephone voices. Piano, double bass and drums are combined with live electronics, visuals and interactive technology. Meanwhile pianist Tony Roe has revealed himself as an imaginative composer.
