TILTAN
CD Presentation: A Road Less Traveled
Oene Van Geel altviool, Natalio Sued klarinet, David Golek gitaar, Oleg Fateev accordeon
Musicians from Israel, Moldavia, Argentina and The Netherlands mix jazz with world, chamber and film music. Featuring Boy Edgar Prize winner Oene van Geel on viola.
Tiltan presents a mix of folk, contemporary music, jazz and improvisation. ‘Tiltan’ is the Hebrew word for clover, a four leaf clover brings good luck, and the band is in fact a lucky combination of four musicians from various parts of the world.
Israeli band leader and guitarist David Golek has his roots & upbringing in different countries and brings some of these influences together in his compositions and arrangements. The result is fresh, colorful music with influences from the Middle East, South America, Eastern Europe and North Africa. Tiltan has been compared by critics to broad-minded ensembles such as Tin Hat and John Zorn’s Masada.
Tiltan has a remarkable lineup featuring, alongside Golek, the Dutch violist and Boy Edgar Prize winner Oene van Geel, the Argentinean clarinet player Natalio Sued and the classically trained Oleg Fateev on bayan, the Russian accordion.
The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
