Imaginative solo performance by saxophone player Ties Mellema: music theatre with choreography and interactive video. As part of the November Music Day.

The End of Desire is a solo music theatre performance by saxophonist and jack-of-all-trades Ties Mellema. For the first time he presents a theatrical solo and with this performance, The End of Desire, he brings a personal ode to the power of music. In an inventive set designed by visual artist Michiel Voet, in interaction with video projections, Mellema plays a strong, imaginative divine character.

The End of Desire is part of the November Music Day. Following November Music in Den Bosch – the most important international festival for contemporary music in The Netherlands – the best of the festival can be heard in Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ and the Bimhuis. With contemporary music by contemporary makers and with ‘sounds that matter’ (de Volkskrant).

Box office and cafe open at 2:30 PM. After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
