Nobody can ignore Jeremy Pelt when it comes to heroic, majestic trumpet playing in the line of legendary virtuosos such as Freddy Hubbard and Lee Morgan.
Last year he raised the roof of the Bimhuis as special guest with Bart Wirtz NY Quintet. Now the fivefold Downbeat Critics Poll leader is back with his part acoustic and part electric band.
Jeremy Pelt makes every style contemporary, from swing and bop to the soul and rock jazz of his most recent Water and Earth. ‘Fireworks ignite from Pelt’s trumpet improvisations’ (Downbeat).
