The Velvet Underground is one of the most influential bands of all time. The avant-garde rock of its debut album, featuring singer Nico, was inspired by The Factory, the studio of visual artist Andy Warhol. Ensemble Labyrint, led by David Dramm, has asked composer Yannis Kyriakides and elektronic music pioneer Anne La Berge to focus on this famous album. Dramm himself composed a cycle of songs especially for the ensemble, called ‘The Factory’ and inspired by the stormy relationship between Andy Warhol and model/actress Edie Sedgwick. ‘I have complete confidence in David’s ideas’ (John Cale, ex-member of The Velvet Underground).
