THE BAD PLUS

The successful American formation The Bad Plus redefines the boundaries of the piano trio, with hyper-energetic performances. ‘Jazz with humor and the power of a rock band’ (NRC).

The American formation The Bad Plus pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in a piano, double bass and drums line-up. The three musicians, who have a background in jazz, became famous in a heartbeat with their imaginative interpretations of music outside the genre, from pop and punk to classical and avant-garde. With this approach they have successfully set a new standard. Their most recent CD Made Possible mostly contains original compositions and features synthesizer and electronic beats, played live by drummer Dave King.

Following successful concerts at Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ the trio is now back in Amsterdam for a rare performance in he intimate atmosphere of the Bimhuis. The band has a reputation for hyper-energetic performances and is loved all over the world because of that, by fans of all genres.

‘The Bad Plus glories in its unique self-styled idiom; jazz with humor and the power of a rock band’ (NRC).

The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
