Award-winning trumpeter Teus Nobel experienced his breakthrough with his Liberty Group following the release of their studio album Journey of Man from 2019. This group of renowned Dutch players gave around twenty concerts, which led to a well-oiled formation. The concert on our stage was given a five-star review by Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant: ‘One of the most pleasant experiences that an afficionado of live jazz could wish for.’
Now the Liberty Group presents album number three, Human First, which is the result of a commission by the association of Dutch jazz venues and festivals. On the album, Teus Nobel reflects on his identity crisis during the first Covid-19 lockdown. Teus Nobel is considered one of the frontrunners of Dutch jazz. Aside from his solo projects he has collaborated with, among others, Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, Jef Neve, and Ntjam Rosie.
