TETZEPI

Led by Wouter Hakhoff Bastiaan Woltjer-trombone, Axel Schappert-bass trombone, Dominique Brackeva-trombone, George Pancraz-trumpet, Hans Leeuw-trumpet, Jimmy Sernesky-trumpet, Esmée Olthuis-alto saxophone, soprano saxophone, Erik van der Weijden-alto saxophone, clarinet, Natalio Sued-tenor saxophone, soprano saxophone, Onno van Swigchem-baritone saxophone, Peter Nitsch-bass, Nout IngenHousz-drums, Guillaume Marcenac-piano, Raphael Vanoli-guitar

With its fifteen musicians Tetzepi looks like a traditional big band but keeps itself far away from traditional four four time tunes. Swinging grooves in less obvious times, in a mix of jazz, impro, modern composed and world music. For the program SEED, the Canadian composer John Korsrud planted three little seeds, a couple of musical basic elements that he passed on to other composers. New compositions from (a.o.) Jorrit Dijkstra, Corrie van Binsbergen, Hans Leeuw, Fabrizio Puglisi, Marco C. de Bruin and John Korsrud sprouted from these seeds. Instead of the regular a la carte menu there will be a buffet in the Bimhuiscafé-restaurant, from 7pm, euro 15 (reservations +31 (0)20 788 2158).
