Test Propeller feat. Jeff Taylor & Henry Hey
Saturday7 September 2019

As we face an increasingly unsure future for the human race, artists are looking deeper into their own work. The pursuit of art and its relationship to the human condition has become more important than ever. These feelings are at the core of this energetic new band – Test Propeller.

Songwriter and singer Jeff Taylor is a testament to this pursuit, with his inquisitive lyrics and emotive style that make up many notable contributions to the Donny McCaslin group in recent recordings. Keyboardist Henry Hey has been deeply immersed in artistic pursuit in recent years, both as co-leader of his quartet, Forq, but also in working directly with David Bowie as orchestrator and arranger of David’s final work – Lazarus. Well-known Dutch bassist Mark Haanstra and drummer Marc Schenk have lent their vast musical talents to many famous European artists, but are also an essential part of the Dutch production of Lazarus.

Test Propeller will make its live debut on Dutch stages with brand new original music, as they hope to provide a connection for people in what feels like a deeply divided world. Their melodies and grooves – infectious and their lyrics – intensely thought-provoking.

Jeff Taylor vocals/guitar, Henry Hey keyboards, Mark Haanstra bass, Marc Schenk drums
