TERENCE BLANCHARD QUINTET

Terence Blanchard trompet, Brice Winston tenorsax, Fabian Almazan piano, Joshua Crumbly bas, Kendrick Scott drums

As one of the leading contemporary trumpet players, Terence Blanchard is admired by famous colleagues, such as Roy Hargrove. Furthermore, he cannot be ignored as a film composer, since 1990 for Spike Lee and recently for George Lucas. But first and foremost Blanchard has the gift of storytelling and evoking deep emotions; his album A Tale of God’s Will, about the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, has earned him a Grammy. ‘Bold, modern jazz that’s respectful of tradition and served with style and emotion’ (Wall Street Journal).

After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
