Sufi, North-African, Anatolian, Turkish, Gypsy and music from the Balkans are the ingredients with which Tarhana creates an intelligent and warm fusion. A recent tour in the Middle-East turned out to be a crucial experience, not just musically but also culturally it brought inspiration for ‘Mundus’. In this performance the borderline between music and video art is constantly crossed and there is no fear for bringing up political, religious and ideological themes. With ‘Mundus’, Tarhana offers a musical and political plea for ambiguity and nuance.
