Table Music immerses you in a total concept of music and performance. With instrumental mastership and intuitive interaction, Scandinavian ensemble Sekten evoke a world very much their own, incorporating subtle theatrical elements. The band members move freely through a musical landscape that ranges from unbound soundscapes to intimate stories, from polished songs to raw music featuring furious percussion and experimental guitars. At the centre of the music is Qarin Wikström’s characteristic vocal , also known for her work with Efterklang. At turns ethereal, then ominous she synthesises influences from jazz, pop and Scandinavian folk.
