Tenor saxophonist Mats Gustafsson (The Thing) and tuba player Per-Åke Holmlander, both leaders in Scandinavian jazz, are known for their ecstatic eruptions of experimental improvisation. Nevertheless, they both love beautiful melodies too, as shown by their love for Swedish jazz from the 1950s and 60s. Their international band Swedish Azz takes the Swedish evergreens, which were influenced by West Coast jazz and folk, and mixes them with live electronics, soundscapes and explosive escapades.

Bimhuis Restaurant opens at 18:30. After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
