The German-Dutch Night is a cult phenomenon. Once more cabaret performer Sven Ratzke will pull out all the stops by reconciling German and Dutch artists on Dutch liberation day.
The German-Dutch Night is a cult phenomenon. Cabaret performer Ratzke, ‘the enfant terrible of showbiz’ (de Volkskrant), has been reconciling German and Dutch artists for the past five years on Dutch liberation day, in each case before a sold-out Bimhuis. Ratzke welcomed major stars Nina Hagen and Hanna Schygulla, he made Theo Maassen sing in German and he coupled opera singer Ernst-Daniël Smid to a Polish drag queen. A pole dancer crawled on stage and the punk countertenor band Tiger Lillies collaborated with a swinging big band. Everything is possible!
Once more Ratzke will pull out all the stops for this last edition of the Dutch-German Night at the Bimhuis, with a party full of music, beautiful stories and a hilarious mix of the Dutch and German language.
The German-Dutch Night is a collaboration with Duitsland Instituut Amsterdam (DIA) and is in part made possible by Duits-Nederlandse Handelskamer (DNHK) and Amsterdams 4 en 5 mei comité.
The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
