* SVEN RATZKE PRESENTEERT DE DUITS-NEDERLANDSE NACHT
with a.o. Hanna Schygulla
Sven Ratzke, Hanna Schygulla zang, Fay Lovsky multi-instrumentalist, Flora Gattina paaldans, Charly Zastrua piano, Florian Friedrich bas, Haye Jellema drums
Cabaret performer Ratzke, ‘the enfant terrible of showbiz’ (de Volkskrant), has been reconciling German and Dutch artists for the past four years on Dutch liberation day, in each case before a sold-out Bimhuis. The list of celebrity guests grows increasingly more impressive. Actress and singer Hanna Schygulla, grande dame of German cinema, is the center of attention this year. She portrayed leading roles in the classic films of Rainer Werner Fassbinder, including The Marriage of Eva Braun and Lili Marleen. 15 years after her sold-out show at Amsterdam’s Stadsschouwburg theater she returns to The Netherlands.
The German-Dutch Night is a collaboration with Duitsland Instituut Amsterdam (DIA) and is in part made possible by Duits-Nederlandse Handelskamer (DNHK), Goethe-Institut Niederlande and Amsterdams 4 en 5 mei comité.
