With a ten-piece band including singers, horn players and a latin rhythm section, Steven Brezet embarks on a new adventure full of jazz, funk and salsa. We know the Rotterdam-based percussionist from the Dutch brass festival sensation Gallowstreet and the afro funkers KOFFIE. He also played with international jazz giants such as Snarky Puppy, Bill Laurance and Ghost-Note.
At a very young age, Steven Brezet took djembe lessons with the Senegalese percussionist Aly N’Diaye Rose. He worked on his skills as a musician by traveling to countries with different musical styles, adapting more influences and instruments from The Middle East, Africa and Latin America. World Traveler is the apt title for his new project. Steven recently signed a contract with the New York-based label Circle 9 Records founded by Grammy-winning trombonist Doug Beavers.
After the concert you can dance on Cuban salsa music during our Salsa Panorama organized by Salsa District. With or without experience, it’s fun for everyone.
