SPIRITUAL UNITY FEAT. HENRY GRIMES

in collaboration with VPRO Radio

Roy Campbell-trumpet, Marc Ribot-guitar, Henry Grimes-bass, Chad Taylor-drums

The fact that bass player Henry Grimes, after a three decade absence, started playing again is fabulous and the fact that he participates in a tribute to Albert Ayler is reason for even more joy. Grimes, one of the most prominent bass players of the New Thing played in Aylers’ groups for years and can be heard on essential records like ‘Spirits Rejoice!’ and ‘Live in Greenwich Village’. He adds a very special value to this project, initiated by the incredibly versatile Marc Ribot.
