SPEEQ

The European impro quartet SPEEQ first came together two years ago at the Banlieues Bleues Festival in Paris. The combination of female vocalist Sidsel Endresen (in the meantime replaced by top class vocalist Phil Minton), guitarist Hasse Poulsen, bassist Luc Ex and drummer Mark Sanders worked so well that concerts soon followed at festivals in France, England, Finland and Germany. ‘They are the kind of uncompromising improv group who drive a few disgruntled listeners out of the room in the opening moments, they rightly drew loud appreciation from the majority who stayed put.’ (The Guardian).
