BIMHUIS Sound System

As a resident for this bimonthly evening, Radikal Rupert invites guest DJs who bring a new and eclectic sound to the Amsterdam nightlife. Alongside his residencies at Noorderlicht, Volkshotel, Ruigoord and BIMHUIS, Radikal Rupert has been active in jazz, funk and reggae bands for ten years, and he has recently released an album with the Amsterdam Funk Orchestra. His passion for music speaks through the grooves of his records, in a wide range of styles, upholding a soulful and organic groove.

With a genre crossing sound, from Balkan to benga and from cosmic jazz to cumbia, with a strong focus on the dancefloor, BIMHUIS Sound System is off to a fine start of the new season with Tenzers, who have built a reputation performing at, among others, Red Light Radio, Paradiso, Claire and Skatecafé. These two brothers share a great musical passion which they express in their work as DJs, producers and co-owners of the Super-Sonic Jazz label. They’re open-minded and versatile and they combine disco, jazz, afro, Detroit, Chicago and everything that moves them.
