SINNE EEG & JACOB CHRISTOFFERSEN TRIO

Three day festival with the finest jazz from Denmark. On day 3 jazz vocalist Sinne Eeg will perform, followed by Jacob Christofferson’s sublime piano trio plus tenor saxophonist Jakob Dinesen.

The three day festival Danish Delight brings the finest jazz from Denmark, with concerts at leading Dutch and Belgian venues. Every concert features two bands representing contemporary Danish jazz. Danish Delight is organized by New Arts International in collaboration with JazzDanmark and several Danish jazz labels.

Opener of the third festival day at the Bimhuis is one of the strongest young Scandinavian singers, Sinne Eeg, who has released six internationally acclaimed albums. Her role models are Nancy Wilson, Betty Carter and Sarah Vaughan, but at the same time her music is infused with typically Scandinavian melancholy. Sinne sings standards and a handful of original compositions. She has won many awards including several Danish Music Awards and the prestigious Ben Webster Award in 2014.

Pianist Jacob Christofferson is highly in demand as a sideman, a musical chameleon who can easily adapt to different styles. As a band leader he has released three albums. He plays with the renowned and prolific tenor saxophonist Jakob Dinesen. ‘Melodies just keep pouring out of Christoffersen, with a nice flow and at the same time a driving attack… this music is right in the heart of jazz’ (All About Jazz).

The Bimhuis restaurant
is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via
020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free
entrance).
