SEX MOB

Steven Bernstein is a slicker on the slide trumpet. His quartet Sex Mob sounds like the house band of a strip club that plunders popular songs in an irreverent, but skilful way. Variations on ‘Ruby Tuesday’, ‘Goldfinger’ or songs by Abba and Nirvana; nothing is sacred in the hands of these imaginative musicians. On their last record Sexotica they play wild interpretations of kitschy easy listening music from the heyday of the gramophone record.
