SAX SUMMIT: JOE LOVANO, DAVE LIEBMAN, RAVI COLTRANE

After the death of Michael Brecker, Joe Lovano and Dave Liebman continued their super group Saxophone Summit with an ideal successor. On the recently released album, “Seraphic Light,” the group is completed by Ravi Coltrane, son of their main inspiration, John Coltrane. This second album is a tribute to Brecker and to Ravi’s mother Alice, who passed away less than 24 hours after Brecker. As with their debut album, new compositions are complemented with pieces from John Coltrane’s later period.
