Mahanthappa and Iyer were introduced to each other by Steve Coleman, who’s hyper intelligent, mathematic approach to the musical matter is shared by them. Earlier this year Iyer played a much talked of concert at VPRO’s Jazz op het Dak, tonight Mahanthappa is the leading man.
