The new Amsterdam based Royal Improvisers Orchestra (RIO) was founded by Brazilian reed player Yedo Gibson and consists of international musicians from divergent backgrounds, from baroque to noise rock. RIO works with a syvoice in which each improvisation is conducted by a member of the orchestra. Tonight the orchestra will collaborate with multi-instrumentalist Steve Beresford and drummer Han Bennink. The concert opens with a duo set by the two seasoned improvisers. After a RIO set the orchestra will play two pieces with Beresford and Bennink respectively.
