ROY HAYNES’ 85TH BIRTHDAY WITH HIS FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH BAND

Roy Haynes is one of the drummers that laid the foundation for jazz as we know it today, alongside Max Roach and Kenny Clarke. Through their innovative playing their instrument, the drums gained a prominent role in the band. Haynes has more than 60 years of experience. He played with Lester Young, as well as with the founders of bebop. He performed with Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane.
