Top players from the international gypsy jazz world unite at Django Amsterdam. Every year the festival is dedicated to the birthday of guitar icon Django Reinhardt, originator of gypsy jazz, or swing manouche. Because the three-day festival was canceled earlier this year, we present the Django Amsterdam Reprise with the Rosenberg Trio, supported by the Robin Nolan Trio.

Englishman Robin Nolan travels the world with a guitar over his shoulder, with Amsterdam as his home base. He’s regarded as a gypsy jazz authority everywhere he goes. He was a good friend of George Harrison, he regularly performed with Bill Wyman, and he received praise from Willie Nelson. His playing contains all kinds of influences, from The Beatles to Ravi Shankar to AC/DC

The Rosenberg Trio are leaders of the international gypsy jazz scene. Lead guitarist Stochelo Rosenberg is widely considered the heir to Django’s throne. A true family affair, the three cousins have been playing together since childhood. They have performed with world famous musicians on the most reputed stages, including a memorable show at New York’s Carnegie Hall for legendary violinist Stéphane Grappelli’s 85th birthday celebration. At Django Amsterdam they will combine the classical Django Reinhardt repertoire with Stochelo’s original compositions.
