Thirty years after its formation in Amsterdam’s Surinamese community Fra Fra Sound has developed intoa virtual institution for Afro-Caribbean big band jazz. Fra Fra Sound group and Fra Fra Big Band have been successful all over the world with their brand of passionate, catchy music that incorporates jazz, blues, soul and gospel. Fra Fra Sound is an important platform for young musicians. The ensemble led by bass player Vincent Henar regularly collaborates with famous soloists. For this anniversary gig illustrious guest musicians and friendly bands will travel to the Bimhuis from far and wide.
