Ron Carter is Guinness World Record holder as the most recorded jazz bassist in history, with currently more than 2250 individual recording credits. Following his classical training as a cellist, he experienced the heydays of modern jazz in New York, playing double bass with legends such as Thelonious Monk and Cannonball Adderley. In the 1960s he wrote jazz history as a member of the Miles Davis Quintet. In his current band he regularly refers to this golden era, and plays some of his most memorable compositions.

Ron Carter is a role model for bass players all over the world, because of his bright, accurate tone and his imaginative harmonies, which are always in service of the melody. This year he celebrated his 85th birthday at the most prestigious concert hall in New York, Carnegie Hall, where he was honored by his colleagues Stanley Clarke and Buster Williams. He performed there in three ensembles, among others with the musicians who form his current Foursight quartet.
