Roda de Samba led by Nelson Latif ft. Marcelo Café & Thaylis Carneiro

One great Brazilian celebration with singers, bands and traditional instruments.

The Roda de Samba has become a tradition on our stage, a musical gathering where everyone is invited to join in the singing, dancing and playing. The host is guitarist Nelson Latif, who invites musicians from different parts of Brazil.

Opening act Roda de Choro celebrates the choro style, the forerunner of various types of Brazilian music.

Headlining this edition is the eight-piece band of singer Marcelo Café. Born in Rio de Janeiro, singer Café is one of the outstanding voices of Samba in the city he now calls home: Brasília. His samba rock classics will be accompanied by the core members of his band plus renowned Brazilian musicians from the Amsterdam scene.

The evening closes with singer Thaylis Carneiro and her trio. When this singer-songwriter and instrumentalist from Minas Gerias sings you can feel the pulse that built Brazilian music. Her styles are diverse, ranging from popular Brazilian music, from samba to blues, from rock to forró, but always under a unique interpretation and deep rhythmic roots.
