Cello player Hank Roberts is back. In the early 1990s he withdrew from the Downtown scene and settled in the countryside to dedicate himself to family life. He starting performing again in 2006 with guitarist Marc Ducret and drummer Jim Black. Their recent CD Green is a wonderful homage to American musical history, from Native American songs to sixties funk. ‘The best moments shut down the distances among folk and rock and classical and a more ancient kind of song’ (New York Times).
