This up-and-comer in the Dutch jazz scene received praise from sax legend Michael Brecker and was nominated for the prestigious Edison jazz award. The young Dutch pianist Rembrandt Frerichs thinks outside the box and is inspired by Bach, minimalism, impressionism and eastern music. His most recent project Ordem E Progresso consists of two CDs. The first contains acoustic jazz, with influences from Armenia, Iran and classical music. The second one is a funky, electric album with catchy songs.
