The BIMHUIS Café offers the chance to discover a new band with three internationally renowned improv musicians.
British pianist garnered acclaim for his recent solo album Obsidian on ECM Records, on which he plays various church organs. At the BIMHUIS he will display his prowess on Hammond B3, in the classic jazz combination with electric guitar and drums. However, the new trio with Reinier Baas and German drummer Jonas Burgwinkel (who’s known from the Pablo Held Trio) could bring up some surprises.
Reinier Baas is regarded as ‘one of the most striking young jazz musicians in The Netherlands’ (NRC). He caused a stir with his Princess Discombobulatrix Suite, a collaboration with soprano Nora Fischer, and with his band The More Socially Relevant Jazz Music Ensemble.
