REFAVELA! NEW YEARS EVE CONCERT 2006/2007

Please note: For this benefit concert a fixed price of € 35 will be charged. Therefor discountcards cannot be used this evening, bimhuiscards and relationcards included. In SÃo Paulo, Brasil, the largest and wealthiest city of South America, millions of inhabitants are excluded from prosperity and at the mercy of poverty and violence. Cellist Ernst Reijseger, who visited the city recently, initiates a New Years Eve Benefit at the Bimhuis for Corrente Viva. This organisation dedicates itself to reinforcement of the local organisations that work in the favelas, the slums, and supports education, health, housing, employment and social security. Wilde Ganzen and ICCO (Premieplusplan) will triple the proceeds of the concert. An exciting program with Brazilian accents until the small hours with a.o.: Theatergroep Flint (with parts from ‘Pikketanissie’ and ‘Korreltjie, Korreltjie Sand’ with Felix Strategier, David Vos, Djoeke Klijzing, Joeri de Graaf, Sean Bergin and Ernst Reijseger), Simon Nabatov with parts of his program ‘Around Brazil’, Joanna McGregor, Georg Gräwe, Larissa Groeneveld, Wolter Wierbos, Alan ‘Gunga’ Purves, Franky Douglas, Wilbert Joode, Maarten van Roozendaal, IKKI, Martin Fondse, YASO, DJ Jairzinho, video projections of Martijn Grootendorst, photo exhibition about the favelas.
