One of the leading sax players of his generation is in top form with his current band. ‘Ravi Coltrane writes the next chapter of his family history’ (Downbeat).

In the past 20 years Ravi Coltrane has developed himself as one of the leading saxophonists of his generation. Like most contemporary jazz musicians he cannot escape the influence of his legendary parents John and Alice, even though he is praised all around for his own forward-thinking style.

In 2012 Ravi started his current band, in which Cuban piano maverick David Virelles plays a vital role. According to critics the sax player is in top form: ‘The ethereal quality of his tone renders even his most intense, intricate passagework immensely attractive’ (Chicago Tribune).
