RAPHAEL VANOLI SOLO

Raphael Vanoli presents his solo album Bibrax, the result of one year of research into new ways of playing the electric guitar. For this challenge and for the recording of the album, Vanoli took op residence in an old French monastery. Subtle playing techniques, such as brushing and blowing the strings, lead to impressive harmonic sounds with the help of amplification and electronics. Vanoli is primarily known as a member of Amsterdam-based band Knalpot, in which he uses electronic (dance) music as a point of departure for improvisation.
