On October 8, 2022, eleven years have passed since Piet Noordijk died. From the dive bars of Rotterdam to prestigious halls with the Metropole Orchestra: he captivated them with his sparkling saxophone playing, which made him one of the tastemakers of Dutch jazz. Three excellent saxophonists – Benjamin Herman, Baptiste Herbin and Christina von Bülow – pay tribute to their famous colleague. They will be accompanied by pianist Miguel Rodriguez, double bassist Thomas Pol and drummer Joost Patocka.
The Danish saxophonist Christina von Bülow impresses with her warm and lyrical tone, inspired by legends like Stan Getz and Lee Konitz. Baptiste Herbin is a versatile and renowned French saxophone player, appreciated both as a band leader and sideman (he toured with Charles Aznavour). Benjamin Herman is one of the best known and most respected saxophonists in The Netherlands. As a solo-artist and band leader of New Cool Collective he has released over fifty albums. He collaborated with everyone from Dr. John to Paul Weller, and from Han Bennink to Rein de Graaff.
