PHILIP CATHERINE ’70TH BIRTHDAY TOUR’

Philip Catherine gitaar, Nicola Andrioli piano, Philippe Aerts bas, Antoine Pierre drums
Special guest: Isabelle Catherine zang

Philip Catherine is a master of jazz guitar; since the 1960s he has travelled Europe accompanying such legendary musicians as Dexter Gordon, Charles Mingus and Chet Baker. In the early 1970s he focused on jazz rock, such as in the band of violin player Jean-Luc Ponty. In a duo with his equally versatile colleague Larry Coryell he explored blues and gypsy jazz. In 2012 the Belgian guitarist celebrates his 70th birthday with a European tour. With his quartet he will present his new CD Coté Jardin. Special guest is singer Isabelle Catherine, his daughter.

After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).

Please note: photography, filming, video or sound recordings of any kind are not allowed at this concert.
