The young New York-based trumpet player Peter Evans is a technical genius with an unbridled urge for innovation. His compositions and improvisations are exciting collage pieces, with bits of contemporary microtonal music, pre-war jazz and futuristic electronics. He has played the Bimhuis before with Mostly Other People Do the Killing. ‘Evans has the kind of mad chops and conceptual smarts that surface just a few times every lifetime… each piece seesaws between abrasive chaos and liquid fluidity’ (Downbeat).
