Peter Beets is internationally recognized as a phenomenal jazz pianist. He celebrated great success with his swinging variations on the timeless melodies of Chopin. Now the maestro will return with a strong follow-up: Tchaikovsky Meets the Blues. In this program he will also include Rachmaninoff, Scriabin and other great composers. In the spring of 2023, Beets travelled to New York to record the eponymous album, which will be presented tonight.

For this occasion, the renowned drummer Greg Hutchinson will come to The Netherlands. In the American jazz world, he is a connection between the legends and the current stars. He played with Oscar Peterson, Betty Carter, Dianne Reeves, and John Scofield. Currently he works with Kurt Rosenwinkel and Brad Mehldau. New York-born double bassist Frans van Geest, founder of the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, has been accompanying Peter for many years.
