The trio Perselí is formed by BIMHUIS Artist in Residence Fuensanta, alto saxophonist José Soares and trumpeter Alistair Payne. Since 2018 they have been playing a mix of contemporary jazz in which folk and poetry are important elements, and on this evening they will present their very first album! Extra special is the collaboration with the dance collective Chronos and based on a shared interest in transformation and natural patterns, they investigate how music and the body propel each other.
The basis of the evening is the piece As You Lean Against The Noise by dance collective Chronos together with singer Vita Pagie. Together they explore whether humans can cope with the speed at which the world is developing and are inspired by the continuous adaptation in nature, as can be seen in flocks of birds and networks of fungi and tree roots. Afterwards you can show your own moves on the dance floor in our cafe with DJ Oceanic who guarantees an amazing set. In 2020 he collaborated with the legendary improvisation singer Greetje Bijma on the LP ‘Swallow A Party’.
