Troubadour Pedro Luis Ferrer provides traditional Cuban music with his own twist. In the 1970s he took part in the popular Nuevo Trova movement, with Silvio Rodriguez. While his politically charged lyrics became more poignant, he encountered more and more opposition from the Cuban government and record industry. For years his music circulated underground.
