Paul van Kemenade mentions Julian ‘Cannonball’ Adderley and Piet Noordijk as the two great alto players that never cease to inspire him. This year Van Kemenade is celebrating two anniversaries: 30 years of musicianship and 25 years of active playing with his quintet. The alto player from Tilburg, known for his endless energy, his lyrical, melancholic tone and his fluent technique, will perform with his regular group with guests Rik Mol and Ferhan Otay, in duo with pianists Michiel Braam and Stevko Busch. Last but not least he will play with the occasional group in which can be heard trombonist Ray Anderson, Der Rote Bereich guitarist Frank Möbus and ICP rhythm team Ernst Glerum and Han Bennink.
