OREN AMBARCHI & ROBBIE AVENAIM / JAN JELINEK – LIVE (SCAPE, BERLIN) / JON HOPKINS FEAT. DAVIDE ROSSI

The 12th annual edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event presents three extraordinary acts in electronic improvised music. Robbie Avenaim’s combination of custom built percussion and electronics together with electronically altered guitar lines by Oren Ambarchi create strong narrative noisescapes which can be both serene and extremely physical. Jan Jelinek has released his glitch and minimal related music on Berlin based label ~Scape and produces both dreamy and tumultuous soundscapes.
The featured act is Jon Hopkins, co-producer of the number 1 album Viva la Vida or Death and All this Friends (2008) by Coldplay. This exceptionally talented composer-pianist-producer has worked with quite a few talented artists including Brian Eno and Herbie Hancock and produced the music for the ballet Random Dance by choreographer-dancer Wayne McGregor. Tonight Jon teams up with Coldplay violinist Davide Rossi and presents an experimental set of stunning ambient music in which digital coldness fuses with subtle, bucolic textures.
