Together with 16 young musicians, trumpeter Eric Vloeimans and percussionist Hashem Kabreet will take you on an exciting musical journey through experimental jazz and hot-blooded folk music. In two days full of unexpected musical encounters and experimentation, eight students from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and eight musicians from the Middle East will create a unique one-off concert, coached by Vloeimans and Hashem. The starting points of the Orchestre Partout Labs are set, the outcomes uncertain. Transport, alienation and infectious energy go hand in hand.
Trumpeter Eric Vloeimans doesn’t see genres. It is the joy in the music that connects and everything is allowed to come along, from influences by Pat Metheny and Clifford Brown to sounds from the Balkans and the Caribbean. The common thread running through his work is melodic and lyrical power and a distinctive sound, glowing on the one hand and velvety and whispering on the other.
Co-host and co-creator of the Orchestre Partout Labs is Hashem Kabreet. The Syrian-born percussionist (frame drums/derbuka/cajon) and handpan player knows how to guide any diverse group of musicians through the creative process. Hashem is the constant factor in all Orchestre Partout Labs.
