Trio San Franciso was founded accidently in a café with the same name, located on the Amsterdam Zeedijk, when the three saxophone players payed their bill with a performance. D’Agaro returned to Italy, Bergin developed his MOB into one of the most impressive Dutch jazz orchestras and Delius’ characteristic sound became internationally known. Now they are back together again, as if nothing has changed. Ochs and Masaoka (San Francisco) and Lee (Vancouver), central figures in the new music scene, play compositions created for improvisors. The unusual instrumentation enables this trio to evoke atmospheres of silence, containing exciting tensions. Der Rote Bereich is inspired by pop, rock, jazz and twelve tone music. With its furious energy and highly original music, this antithesis of conventional jazz became a cult. Hot jazz punk, grooving, solid compositions and lyrical ballads. On Saturday, August 27 the trios play at the Groningse Zomer Jazz Fietstour.
