Oliver’s Cinema: Vloeimans / Florizoone / Brinkmann
Eric Vloeimans trumpet, Tuur Floorizone accordeon, Jörg Brinkmann cello
Eric Vloeimans, the most famous Dutch trumpet player of today, has ‘a brilliant tone whose range has constantly expanded over the years’ (de Volkskrant). The name of his newest band, Oliver’s Cinema, is an anagram of his acoustic trio. The threesome plays film music as well as music with a cinematic quality. The repertoire ranges from Ennio Morricone soundtracks to new compositions for imaginary films. The remarkable line-up features cellist Jörg Brinkmann and the flamboyant accordion player Tuur Florizoone.
‘The trio stands for music that fuses the backgrounds of the performers, jazz and classical. They span the musical concept, while Tuur Florizoone adds Brazilian, circus, dance, film, theater, pop and world music. Jörg Brinkmann distinguishes himself with his unusual approach of the cello, which doubles as a rhythm instrument. An overwhelming experience’ (Jazzenzo).
