Oene van Geel: Mind Maps

For the performance of his new composition Mind Maps, Oene van Geel selected a group of musicians who are very dear to him. They inspire him both musically and because of their personalities.With Mind Maps, he offers a glimpse of their inner worlds. The music will be accompanied visually by projections of paintings made by the composer himself.
Oene van Geel made name as a viola player and composer in the Zapp4 string quartet and as an improvising musician in many other ensembles. Mind Maps was commissioned by Week van de Jazz, an initiative by Vereniging Nederlandse Jazzpodia en Jazzfestivals (VNJJ). The event is linked to International Jazz Day 2022, a global initiative by Unesco in collaboration with Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz.
